Before You Arrive ...

Bridal appointments are necessary. Before you arrive at the salon, reflect on your individual style. If possible, search current bridal magazines or ads to become familiar with designs you might be interested in.

What to Bring

Feel free to bring any bridal magazines with pictures of your desired gown choices.

Pure Bliss will provide undergarments such as long-line bras and slips while trying on gowns. These items can also be purchased at Pure Bliss.

Selecting a Gown

Please note that we have access to many of the gowns you see in national and local magazines. Use the guide below to help you narrow the selection:

Silhouettes

• Ball Gown – This style is the most traditional with a full bodice that leads to a full skirt.
  

• Empire – This cut features a waistline right under the bust that falls to a slimmer skirt.
  

• A–line Princess – This shape has vertical seams flowing from the skirt; these seams have a slimming effect.
  

• Sheath – This design is a slim silhouette that closely follows the contour of the body.
  

Body Types

• Hourglass – For a large bust and a thin waist, an A–line gown is flattering.
  

• Short Waist – Girls that are naturally proportioned, except the distance between your waist and hips, look best in a princess line silhouette with a full skirt.
  

• Thick waist – This body type is similar to a short waist, but undefined, will get a thinning look in an empire waist gown.
  

• Full Figure – Women with full, round hips look great in an A–line or a ball gown style.
  

• Pear shaped – For figures small on top and slightly larger on bottom, a strapless or off–the–shoulder ball gown will fit well.
  

• Thin – For short or tall bodies, a ball gown or sheath is a great choice.
  

• Petite – Simple styles flatter a petite figure. A–line and Sheath are great choices.
